BMW of Fairfield & Teamwrkx Host Construction Showcase for HS Students

BMW of Fairfield and Teamwrkx Construction will host more than 250 students from high schools in Napa and Solano counties on September 14th for a day of career-oriented information about the construction industry. The construction industry showcase event is designed to highlight the large number of high-paying jobs in the construction field that do not require a college degree. The event will be at 2399 Auto Mall Parkway in Fairfield, where Teamwrkx is building a new dealership for BMW of Fairfield.

During the event, students will learn about all areas of the construction trades from Teamwrkx experts and subcontractors: project management, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, roofing, and more. Most importantly, they’ll hear how many careers in construction don’t require a college degree while offering the opportunity to make a good living.

Hundreds of thousands of well-paid careers are available in America’s skilled trades. Contractors need electricians, plumbers, roofers, carpenters, and others to keep up with their growing industry. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, there will be more than 2.5 million job openings every year in fields that don’t require a college education – fields like construction, manufacturing, health care, clean energy, and communications. And the jobs aren’t all for men, either: Eleven percent of construction jobs are filled by women, with more joining the industry every year.

Teamwrkx and other construction companies find one of their biggest challenges is filling jobs. That’s not surprising since California has the greatest number of construction jobs. The event on September 14th at BMW of Fairfield’s building site is just one way to let students in the Napa area know about the opportunities available and give them the information they need to help plan for a well-paid future.
